Similarities Between Noah and Lot

-1. Both were described as just men

          Lot

2 Peter 2:6-7

6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

Noah

Genesis 6:9

9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

-2. Both men were described as righteous

          Lot

6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

8 (For that righteous man (Lot) dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous (Lot’s righteous) soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

Noah

Genesis 7:1

1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

-3. The two men have similar family size

          Lot

          8 family member size – Lot, Lot’s wife, His 4 daughters, His 2 sons-in laws.

        Noah

          8 family member size – Noah, Noah’s wife, His 3 sons, His 3 daughter-in-laws.

-4. Both men had impending destructions coming upon them.

-5. Both were giving opportunity of escape.

 

Major Difference Between Noah and Lot

Noah

The whole of Noah’s family were saved from destruction 8/8.

Lot

Lot lost 5 out of his 8 family members to destruction- more than 50%

 

The cause of this major difference despite all similarities might be found in 2 Peter 2: 5

2 Peter 2: 5

5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

Noah was described as a preacher of righteousness but that was not said about Lot. It could be inferred that Noah preached to his family and prepared them for the impending judgement while that could not be deduced of Lot.

TO MAKE RAPTURE:

Confess your sins to JESUS CHRIST and ask Him to save you.

Be filled with the Holy Spirit
Live in Holiness and Righteousness
Do all Restitutions

Cut off all worldliness.

Forgive all people.

Pray and fast.

Consecrate and study the bible.
