Famine And High Cost Of Food; A Key Sign Of Jesus's Imminent Return

In this presentation, I will be examining the connection between global famine, food crisis and high cost of food being experienced across the world and the imminent return of the Lord, Jesus Christ, as prophesied in the bible.

The issue of food sustainability has been an agelong concern for the human race, from one generation to another generation, up to this twenty first century. This concern is a very pertinent one, since if man must continue to exist, there must be sustainable and affordable food production and supply to support the global human population. Otherwise; a ominous risk of human extinction lurks around the corner.

The Lord, Jesus Christ, however prophesied in Matthew 24:7 that one of the signs that will precede his return at rapture is famine and global food crisis. However, with the growing global increase in famine and high cost of food, many believer are of the opinion that it may be a key sign of Jesus's imminent return.

With a rising number of people experiencing extreme hunger and drought around the world, the sustainability of the world's current food supply is being threatened. If we consider this global food crisis in isolation, one may be tempted to say that it has no connection with rapture, since our world had always witnessed food crises before now, and had always come out of them. However, if we correlate this current food crisis with other signs the Lord, Jesus Christ, gave in the book of Mathew, chapter twenty four, and the way it summed it up in verse thirty three that all the signs or events He prophesied will be happening concurrently, and now all of the He mentioned are happening simultaneously, then we can easily link this global food crisis to the coming of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

📖 Matthew 24:33 KJV

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Some Natural and Geographical Factors Leading to Global Famine and Food Crisis

Famine and High Cost of Food that we are examining in this message, is a sign of the coming of Jesus Christ that falls under the Natural and Geographical Signs category, and as such, it will strongly underscore the point we are trying to make by examining how some environmental factors have contributed to the global famine.

Some of the factors responsible for the impending famine/food shortage crisis include.

-a. Extreme Drought in many countries

Extreme Drought

-b. Flash floods that wash crops away in many nations

Is our World Truly Experiencing Famine and High Price of Food?

Ask our mothers and our wives; and they will give you feedback on how prices of food have risen astronomically in recent times and are still rising daily.

Somalians are dying in large numbers because they have no food to eat.

Recently, the United Nations has also raised an urgent impending famine and food shortages crisis alarm, across many nations, including Nigeria.

Is the Lord, Jesus Christ, Coming Any Time Soon?

To answer this question, let us look at Matthew 24:7

📖Matthew 24:7 KJV

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

The Lord, Jesus Christ, prophesied that there will be famine or otherwise shortage of food at the time he is about to return at rapture. This can be said to be the reason for the global food crisis the whole world is witnessing, now.

In Matthew 24: 33, He also said that all the other signs He mentioned in Matthew 24:7, above, as well as those mentioned in other places, in the bible will be happening simultaneously.

📖 Matthew 24:33 KJV

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

We can also see that in confirmation of that scripture, wars, violences, bloodshed, earthquakes and pestilences like COVID 19, Ebola Virus, SARS, MERS Virus, Zika Virus, HIV and many others, are also happening simultaneously with the global food shortage.

Based on all these, we can conveniently conclude that the ongoing global famine and expensive cost of food is a sign of Jesus Christ’s imminent return and that the Lord, Jesus Christ, is truly returning to rapture the church, any moment.

Why You Should Always Ask the Holy Spirit for Help

Why You Should Always Ask the Holy Spirit for Help
Romans 8:26 KJV
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Asking for help

Introduction

One of the principal ministries or duties of the Holy Spirit is the ministry of help - to help the children of God.

Romans 8:26 above clearly and rightly alluded to the fact the humans have infirmities, not the infirmity of sickness and ill health, but that of human limitations and incapabilities. And it is the responsibility of the Holy Spirit to help us out of those limitations; though, the Holy Spirit also helps us out of sicknesses, as well.

The plural form of the word infirmity in the scripture above, which the Holy Spirit is to help us out of, shows that the help which we can get from the Holy Spirit is without limit. It covers all aspect of human life: prayer, examination, interview, giving response, office duty, cooking in kitchen, and more.

But the problem with man, especially the children of God, is that we rarely ask the Holy Spirit for help, thereby making Him incapacitated in performing His official duty. However, much more than that, we deny ourselves the opportunity to achieve great deals of result by asking for help from the only One that can render true help in the time of need.

My testimonies asking Holy Spirit for Help.
One secret I have always benefited from is that of asking Holy Spirit for help.
There is no single time I have asked him for help that He has never helped me. I repeat, no single occasion.

                                                          Asking for Help

Let me recount some few instances.
Examination
Few months ago, I had two online examinations to write at barely one week interval to each other. I had read and prepared very well for the examinations.

During the first examination, I realized that the first five questions were strange to me and didn't know the correct answers to them. That made me lose courage. Fear set in. And I began to think I might fail the examination.

Then, I asked for help with a simple prayer: Holy Spirit, help me in Jesus name. Almost immediately, I heard a whisper to my spirit: start the examination from the last question, upwards.

In obedience, I scrolled down to the last of the forty questions, and guess what, I knew the answer. I attempted the question before that one as well and I knew the answer. By the time I got to the first few questions that I left at the beginning, I had gotten enough tips to answer them correctly. I passed that examination with 85% score.

For the second examination, it was one day to the examination that I got to know the syllabus had been changed. There was nothing much I could do by that time. At the examination, many questions asked were based on the updated syllabus. I began to ask Holy Spirit for help and was reading the questions slowly. I passed the examination by scoring 850 out the maximum 1000.

As I stepped out of the second examination jubilating for the success, I heard another whisper in my spirit: can you see any similarity in your two examinations? Then it was said to me that the Holy Spirit really helped me; each of them was an 85% score, and it was no coincidence.

To be continued.

Why You Must Confess Your Sin of Adultery to Your Partner

Adultery is a grave sin and the same goes for stealing. But what happens when both sins occur unconfessed in a marriage. The husband cheated on the wife, while the wife was stealing husband's money. Both never saw any reason why they must confess their adultery and and other sins to their spouse, until the Holy Spirit intervened and helped redirected their paths from the way of hell. This short narration tells a true life story of a couple that would have gone to hell for not confessing the adultery and stealing each did to the other.
Proverbs 28:13 KJV
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

'You Are a Thief. Are You Any Better Than Adulterer?
Sometimes ago, a man went on official duty to another state and slept with another woman, while there. The man later confessed the sin to God, asked for forgiveness and moved on, but never told his wife. One day, while the man was praying, he said he the Holy Spirit said to him that he would not make heaven because he was an adulterer. I am not an adulterer. Why should I not make heaven? The man asked.

The man said the Holy Spirit told him, 'you cheated on your wife but never sought her forgiveness.' With tears, the man approached the wife to confess that he slept with another woman while he went on official duty.

The woman became so angry and was fuming with hot temper and rage against her husband. 'You adulterer'. 'You stinking thing'. 'You don't even have shame'. I guess the woman might have used those words or even more harsh words on her husband.

As the man kept begging while the woman raged on, the Holy Spirit convicted the woman and told her. 'What about you?'. 'Are you not a thief, stealing your husband money and inflating children school fees for your husband?' 'Are you any better than an adulterer'. 'Your husband has removed his own stumbling block'. 'If he dies now, he ll make heaven'.

The woman burst into tears and immediately forgave the husband. She shared what she heard to the husband and also confessed to the husband that she had been stealing the man's money and also inflating children's school fees for the husband and begged the husband for forgiveness.

The husband also quickly forgave his wife . He also handed his ATM cards to the woman and shared the PINs with her. He then told her not to steal his money again but to freely take money from his ATM.

Inner Peace and joy was restored to the family. God had helped their weaknesses.

Confession of sins brings inner peace and joy

As we await the return of the Lord, Jesus Christ, we need to always repent of our sins before God, and also confess to people we offended, where necessary.

Note IF YOU MUST APPROACH ANYONE TO CONFESS ANY GROSS SIN YOU COMMITTED AGAINST THEM, REMEMBER TO SEEK COUNSELS, ESPECIALLY FROM SPIRIT-FILLED MAN OF GOD, BEFORE YOU TAKE THAT STEP.
